January 2001

Into the Future: 2001

It is so strange to think that we are in the year 2001. As Nate and I talked, we both realized that we used to think of 2001 as being so far in the future. We feel like we are living in the future and it’s almost like we should be see hover cars flying around outside!

  • God did wonderful things in our lives in 2000. We have so much to be thankful for.

  • The birth of our first child!

  • Getting see family frequently.

  • Two vehicles with no major problems.

  • Friendships developing with neighbors.

  • Finished remodeling our bathrooms.

  • 40.5 inches of beautiful snow in December!

  • A new church with many new friends.

  • New members on our staff team.

  • The encouragement we receive from all of you!

This is just a small sample. We are looking forward to this new year with eagerness and with thankful hearts as we wait to see what God will do in our lives and in the lives of the students here at Michigan.

We want to thank each of you so much for being involved in our lives and our ministry. It was so encouraging to hear from so many of you through Christmas letters and cards. The family pictures were wonderful! We pray that God will do wonderful things for each of you in this new year and that when you look back over 2001 in 12 months you will be excited by all that God did in your life!

Andrew’s Update

The world is so much more exciting now! I have learned so much this past month. I can pull up to standing and I do that any chance I get, including in my crib (I learned that at my grandparents’ house). Sitting is very boring! I am trying to walk while holding on to someone’s fingers. I learned how to crawl up the steps at my grandparents’ flower shop. Now there’s another gate up at our house. I am eating more and more of mommy and daddy’s food. It sure is more exciting than that pureed stuff. My two top front teeth have come through and I let Mom and Dad stay up with me for an hour a couple of nights so we could share that experience. The two teeth next to them are just waiting for their turn. My car seat is turned around so I can face forward now. It is so much more fun to be able to talk to Daddy and Mommy!
