God at Work!
Well, we have
seen God do amazing things on campus already this year! The week before classes
began one of our students who is in the band passed out surveys to all of the
band members. There are 50 who are interested in being in a Bible study!
Tuesday was the
first day of classes, the day we try to saturate the campus with surveys. We
passes out about 5200 surveys! Freshmen, some of whom were recruited by students
who became believers last year, were helping us pass them out. We had
specifically prayed that some freshman would be interested in taking part in
surveys. That night was the first night that the Bible studies met in each dorm.
There were about 300 students total in these studies. One women’s dorm where we
have not seen much response had 12 students come to the Bible study!
Wednesday night
saw students gathering in each dorm to pray specifically for their dorm. We have
heard reports of non-believers who came to the Bible studies on Tuesday coming
back on Wednesday for prayer.
Thursday we had a
table on the Diag (central portion of campus) along with most of the other
student organizations. We saw some juniors and seniors coming up and seeking
information on Campus Crusade. This is exciting because usually as a student
gets older, he/she is busier and less interested in getting involved in new
things. Our staff reported having good conversations with people of other faiths
and atheists. This is also the beginning of an answer to one of our specific
prayers—that we will truly be effective in reaching students who are not
believers.
Friday night was
our first weekly meeting, Cru. There were 450 students there! The students who
are leading this meeting have made some great changes in the way the meeting
looks and God’s presence was apparent! Pray with us that we will quickly outgrow
our room that holds 550.
When we as a staff
team looked back at the week, we could do nothing but praise God. He is very
evidently going to do something big on our campus this year, and we get to be a
part of it! At least one student has come to Christ already, after the Tuesday
night Bible studies. Will you join us in praising the Lord for all that He is
doing?
If any of you are
ever interested in coming to one of our Friday night meetings we would love to
have you! Just email us or call us and we will be glad to have you stay with us,
or if you live locally, we can give you the information about when and where we
meet. Nate will have the opportunity to speak at a couple of the meetings this
semester.
Kids' Corner
Mommy’s tummy is
getting bigger. I keep telling her that that means my sister is ready to come
out, but Mommy doesn’t seem to agree. I guess she’ll come after we start wearing
coats and hats and when it’s too cold to play outside very much.
Mommy and I go to
AWANA on Wednesday night and Daddy stays home with Lauren. I am a Cubbie Bear!
Mommy also helps out in my class. I am starting to learn verses from the Bible.
The first verse I’m working on is I John 4:10: “God loved us and sent His Son.”

It’s getting
harder and harder to sit in Mommy’s lap. My sister is already invading my
territory! I have been practicing rocking my babies so that I’ll be prepared for
my new sister.
I am 2 now! I’m
going to have a cake and ice cream at my birthday party. We might have the party
at a park if the weather is nice.
